MAMA KATE

LONDON — Prince William’s wife, Kate, has given birth to an eight-pound baby boy, Buckingham and Kensington Palace both confirmed Monday.
“We could not be happier,” Prince William said in a brief statement Monday evening.
Kensington Palace said the boy weighs 8lbs 6oz and was born at 4:24pm local time. William spent the long hours of labor at Kate’s bedside.
The news has been displayed on an ornate easel at Buckingham Palace as per tradition.
“Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm today,” the document reads.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
The document, signed by the Queen’s gynaecologist Dr. Marcus Setchell, was delivered via police escort.
Prince William is not expected to speak to the media Monday night and will be staying in the hospital with his wife and child.
